This project was created as a group work for a packaging class at during my Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design. It was a collaborative project between Me, Hania Gazar, Noor Sallam and Amena El Defrawy. My role in the project was to design the die-cuts for the packages, hand-producing the model mockups seen in the images and collaboratively work on the layout.
Packaging Proposals
This project made us a win an internship to repackage several of Gourmet Egypt's real packages.
Packaging Design
Brownies Package
Since Gourmet Egypt is a niche food store in Egypt, they have the luxury to have special placements of their products and so I figured that this continuation concept would give the shelf a dynamic look, while having the overall package look intriguing to offer as a gift to friends, family or to one's self. The initial problem was that the existing packages had standard plastic boxes with a label that did not look appealing enough to work as a gift to offer, and did not looking encouraging to buy, even though the product itself has great potential.
Ravioli Package
Gourmet Egypt produce their very own ravioli's, however the same issue of plastic packaging seemed problematic. We suggested to create boxes with compartments that could either be used as portions or to separate several flavors of different raviolis. A moisture solution would be to have a laminated lining, and while it still is plastic, it is a much smaller quantity than a physical plastic box.
Salad Package
This Salad Packaging would also need laminated Kraft paper, and I designed is so that the bottom section with the salad has the base of the dressing and croutons section as a lid, and just one lid to cover the dressing section.
